According to the Rocket Internet, MTN and Tigo backed platform, personalised cakes and chocolate selections are the most orders products. In fact, around 20% of all daily food orders being placed on the website and through the mobile app include some aspect of dessert. As orders go through tonight, on this very special commercial holiday, Hellofood expects this number to go up. A lot of restaurants listed on the Hellofood platform have prepared special menus “dedicated to people in love”, and the dessert will be hard to resist.
The most ordered Valentine’s Day product is traditional cakes. These delights, which are often moulded to extravagant designs, are often coupled with personalised messages of love, and the proof is in the pudding.
“In the upcoming weeks, we are expecting an overall increase in orders, especially since 1 and 8 March both fall on a Saturday. This is an ideal day for lovers who choose to celebrate in the privacy of their home with a romantic dinner for two. Many of the restaurants registered on Hellofood have already prepared special menus for people in love, so those who want a special dessert can always choose between a red velvet, decorated sponge or black forest chocolate cake”, said James Gibson, Country Manager Hellofood.
