Livity Africa is calling for applications for its 2015 Digify intake. Backed by Google and IAB South Africa, the bootcamp is looking for fifteen 18 to 25-year-olds who will stand the chance of kickstarting their careers with some of the country’s top digital agencies.
As we saw with the initial launch, the three-month programme will cover the ins-and-outs of life in a digital agency. This means that it will cover digital campaign, social media, content creation, together with Google specific modules.
Livity Africa managing director Gavin Weale says that a major part of what makes the programme stand out from the rest, is due to the strong network the company has:
What is really unique about this bootcamp is our strong links with leaders in the digital industry. Not only is Google funding the initiative, they provide Google experts to ensure the young people receive up-to-date training with Search, AdWords, Analytics and YouTube and as well as running campaigns on other social media networks.
Learners will also get exposure to practical scenarios as they will closely work with brands and agencies to develop campaigns for real live briefs. Weale points out that in the last two cohorts, they have developed campaign ideas for brands like Red Bull, Kit Kat, Nescafé, MTN, Nandos and Mountain Dew.

Gavin points out the strong need to fill a gap of at least a quarter of the current workforce.
“Our current cohort of graduates will be available for paid internships or roles from mid-December 2014, so get in touch if you are looking for next generation talent,” says Gavin.
