Rwanda’s Think adds 4 new startups to its accelerated incubator

Think, a Rwandan-based startup accelerator, has recently added four new startups to its new programme. Taking place over the course of three months, entrants in Think Accelerated will be part of a high-intensity offering. The programme hopes to be faster and more immersive than its standard six-month course.

Having launched in 2014, Think, based in Kigali, Rwanda, aims to incubate tech startups with digital solutions that can scale across Africa.

The decision to add a three-month fast-track offering, while still continuing the core six-month version, allows entrepreneurs to return to their home markets after the intense session. Entrants will receive financing, strategic consulting, a global curriculum, and access to Tigo resources and global mentors.

Investment Manager of Think, Paul Soko, talks about the new offering:

think Accelerated, enables us to attract a wider range of entrepreneurs and tech start ups who will benefit from a fast-track incubator offering, keeping Africa at the forefront of innovation. This new program is a hallmark of Millicom’s commitment to innovation and to growing the IT startup environment across Africa.

After the first round of Think Accelerated — having taken place in June — the following startups have been added to the incubator, all of which provide IT solutions across Africa:

  • Asuqu (Nigeria) — Nigeria’s first marketplace for freelancers and businesses offerings. At present, the platform has over 300 trusted offerings.
  • Esaja (Zimbabwe) — A B2B marketplace connecting companies across Eastern and Southern Africa.
  • SafeMotos (Rwanda) — A platform for connecting motor taxies — based on feedback and safety ratings — with commuters.
  • Team Tigo (Rwanda) — developer for digital solutions across Tigo platforms, and support for Accelerated
