African internet service provider SEACOM is extending its support for Uganda’s technology incubation hubs. Both Hivecolab and Outbox Hub will be receiving 20Mbps connections for their developers and entrepreneurs in the tech industry.

According to Joseph Muriithi, SEACOM’s MD for Kenya, the move is part of their plan to innovate Africa. “This investment in bandwidth falls in line with SEACOM’s commitment to supporting technology innovation in Africa and to helping Uganda’s technology industry capitalise on the opportunities of broadband Internet,” he says.

SEACOM has been supporting innovation hubs in Kenya and Uganda from 2012 and 2014 respectively. Kenya’s Nailab, iHub, mLab, and 88mph have received support from the service provider.
