There are loads of competitions, networking sessions and workshops happening around South Africa and the rest of the continent (namely Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana) that we’ve rounded up to make your life a bit easier.

Cape Town Innovation High Impact Series – a Lead-up Event of the SA Innovation Summit

The Innovation Summit invites the Captains of Industry, thought leaders, government, activists, innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and incubators to attend a power day of insights, innovative thinking and action. An incredible panel of thought-leaders has been assembled to guide the session. They have invited The City of Cape Town, Futureworld, a Swiss Digital transformational activist, the Futures Institute of Africa, My African City, Heads of the Region and many other influential drivers of change and innovation.

SA Innovation Summit Lead-up Event

The SA Innovation Summit, supported by the City of Cape Town, brings you an inspirational one-day summit focused on ‘Creating a City of Opportunity for All’, as part of the SA Innovation Summit’s High Impact Series in Cape Town. The Program reflects on creating the platform for opportunities to thrive and multiply in the City of Cape Town and wider region.

Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab Ideas Programme Workshop

#WomenInTechCPT: Inspiring and Motivating Women

Lean (Startup) Coffee

For people working in startups, lean (startup) coffee is a weekly 1-hour coffee that runs a mash-up of leancoffee.org with theleanstartup.com.

MPhil in Inclusive Innovation Info Session

Smart Community Hackathon – a Lead-up event of the SA Innovation Summit

In addition to the already exciting lineup of the SA Innovation Summit High Impact Series of Events in collaboration with the City of Cape Town this year, a 24-hour Smart Communities Hackathon take place on 19 and 20 August.

Standard Bank Ignitor Bootcamp

The bootcamp is a 3 day action-based workshop where you will learn to apply the Lean Startup methodology to your business. It is the same methodology used by the founders of Facebook, Airbnb and Uber. The bootcamp is sponsored by Standard Bank and is therefore offered free of charge. More than than 800 entrepreneurs across South Africa have attended Ignitor bootcamps in the past.
