The Bamako leg of Seedstars World in Mali has found its winner, AikoCorp. The startup is an SMS service for sending medical lab results to patients.

This year was the first time ever that the global pitching competition visited Mali during its world tour which took place at the Impact Hub Bamako.

“It was an amazing experience to have Seedstars World organise the event in Bamako. I saw a group of amazingly enthusiastic entrepreneurs who will show the world that we have amazing talent in the country,” says CEO and founder of Impact Hub Bamako, Mohamed Keita, in a press release to Ventureburn.

“Our goal is to create THE network for quality entrepreneurs around the world and help entrepreneurs, accelerators, co-working spaces and investors to interact with one another,” said CEO of Seedstars World, Alisee de Tonnac in their events description.

This leg of Seedstars World was judged by a wide variety of sophisticated businessmen and women such as Associate for Seedstars World Africa, Claudia Makadristo; Senior Investment Associate for Crossboundary, Soline Miniere; Co-founder of Impact Hub, Fayelle Ouane; Head of Finance at CRS, Issa Toure and Consular Officer of Global Affairs Canada, Sidi Yattara.

All the Seedstars World winners since the start of the tour will be heading to Switzerland early next year to pitch for their share of US$1-million in equity funding.
