On-demand cleaning service SweepSouth has launched their mobile app. Previously, bookings for the service could only be handled through the SweepSouth website.
Much like other apps — such as Uber — the SweetSouth app allows customers to book a cleaner when needed, sends real-time notifications when the cleaner is en-route, details their arrival, and when they’ve completed the job. Customers are also able to rate the cleaner.

Payment for the job is handled via a cashless and secure method through the app.
“Our product uses cutting-edge technology to provide our customers with the most seamless on-demand experience available. As geolocation tracking and travel time estimates become more accurate and incorporative of transport delays, the app will become more and more powerful,” says co-founder and CTO of SweepSouth, Alen Ribic, in a press release to Ventureburn.

According to Aisha Pandor, co-founder and CEO of the startup, the app also gives clients information on the cleaner.
“We provide customers with a photo of the person assigned to their job and a little information on her background, interests and family. Inviting someone into your home requires trust, so when connecting customers to a stranger, we think it’s important that they are introduced,” she says.
It will also receive future updates with more features. “Through this platform, we will continue to launch even more sophisticated features and service improvements,” says Ribic.
The startup will expand to Durban later this month, and internationally in 2017.
The SweepSouth is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
