Angel Fair Africa gets all-female investors panel
Angel Fair Africa has announced its first all-female investors panel.
The panel features names such as angel investor Laila Macharia, Kanini Mutooni (director of investment at USAID East Africa Trade and Investment Hub) and many others.
The panel also features principal investment officer of Singularity Investments Lexi Novistske and investment director of Novastar Ventures Sapna Shah.
These four heavyweights will constitute the panel on day one of the fourth Angel Fair Africa from 10-11 November 2016.
A total of 20 startups and scaleups will have the opportunity to pitch in front of eager investors. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs and mentors as well as explore business prospects and potential developments and partnerships.
Angel Fair Africa takes place next month in Nairobi, Kenya
These startups have been selected from various parts of the continent, such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Rwanda and Nigeria, via Angel Fair Africa’s partnership network.
The network includes Seedstars World, Demo Africa, Uganda Investment Authority and many others.
“An all-female investor panel would not only encourage other female investors but more importantly enable more female entrepreneurs to venture out and live their dreams,” said Abraaj Group’s Wendy Luhabe.
“Men and women are sharing the work of funding Africa’s emerging digital economy. It’s exciting that Angel Fair Africa is helping to make that welcome development visible,” concluded angel investor Esther Dyson.
