Ten days left to apply for first ever Startupbootcamp Cape Town
International business accelerator Startupbootcamp today issued a final call for applications to its Cape Town programme.
In a press release today, the accelerator said applicants have until 9 July to apply online.
Startupbootcamp launched its first Africa-based programme, Startupbootcamp Cape Town, in April and has since carried out over 12 FastTrack events across the globe in search of startup talent.

From a pool of hundreds of applicants, the 10 most promising teams will be selected and provided with €15,000, have access to over 100 industry mentors, free office space, access to funding and a network of industry partners, investors and venture capital firms.
The three-month bootcamp kicks off in September in Cape Town and will be led by innovation experts, Zachariah George, Philip Kiracofe, and Paul Nel.
Core sponsors for this first Africa-based programme include BNP Paribas Personal Finance, RCS, and PwC. Support is also given by Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Intel, and Cisco.
‘Aim is to find, grow disruptive startups, connect them with dynamic corporates’
RCS CEO Regan Adams said his company is committed to searching for new ideas and solutions that will define the future of financial services institutions and to collaborating and building partnerships with fledgling entrepreneurs.
“RCS believes in the potential of the African continent as the source of a new wave of technological innovation,” he added.
Startupbootcamp Cape Town was initiated after a trend analysis found more than 160 applications to the global programme originated from African teams in 2016 alone.
Startups can apply to attend a local FastTrack ahead of the final application deadline to present their ideas to mentors and sponsors for pre-application advice and feedback. FastTrack engagements are however not a requirement to apply for the Startupbootcamp Accelerator.
There are four such remaining events in the Africa Middle East region. These will take place in Dubai on Sunday (2 July) and in Durban and Cairo next Tuesday (4 July) and Cape Town next Friday (7 July).
“The aim is to find and grow disruptive startups and connect them with dynamic corporates. We are fundamentally changing the ecosystem and seeing tangible results that validate our methodology. The more we engage the more excited we get at how much talent we unearth at these FastTracks,” said Philip Kiracofe, co-MD of Startupbootcamp Cape Town.
Applications are open to a broad array of disruptive startups in blockchain, connected devices, payment solutions, capital markets and asset management, integrated supply chain, e-commerce, alternative financing, identity management, digital connectivity, data and behavioral analytics and enabling technologies and beyond.
