KaChing allows you to pay for your parking by credit or cheque card. On arrival, cameras installed in the locations scan the license plate using license plate recognition (LPR) technology, this opens a parking transaction and the user is notified about this via their smartphone.
The app — which is available on iOS , Google Play and Windows Store — allows users to verify the duration and cost of their parking in real time.
KaChing can currently be used at select malls in Durban and Johannesburg including: Morningside Shopping Centre, Melrose Arch, Thrupps Shopping Centre, Illovo Centre, Campus Square, The Pavillion Shopping Centre and Galleria Mall.
Parkfind claims to be Africa’s first parking app to allow users to search, navigate to and pay for parking in real time. The app sorts through real-time parking transaction data and provides users with a selection of available parking spaces, near to their desired location.
Push notifications alert users when a marshal has scanned the vehicle’s number plate and initiated a parking session. Parkfind allows users to make use of the app without an account, although one has to register to make in-app payments.
The free app is available on the Apple app store and the Google Play store and can be used anywhere in the Cape Town central business district.
All four parking apps allow users to pay using their credit and cheque cards and are available on Android and iOS
Admyt is a ticket-less and cashless app which allows registered users to gain access to mall parking lots. The developers of the app claim it does not hold payment information on file. In addition the app gives users perks and bespoke rewards.
Through the app users can keep track of parking time, cost and validate their parking on the go.
Available on Google Play and the Apple App store, Admyt can be used in Cape Town and Johhanesburg at locations including: Rivonia Village, Cradlestone Shopping Centre, Benmore Gardens, Rivonia Village, Sandton City, Killarney Mall, 24 Central, Blue Route Mall, Hyde Park and Nelson Mandela.
Use your phone to enter and exit a parking lot by simply swiping. Once a user is registered, WizPass securely and automatically deducts due parking fees from the user’s credit and cheque card.
The app can be used at Cape Quarter and The Point Mall in Cape Town and Park Corner in Johannesburg. The developers at WizPass have gone a step further and installed WizzPass phone-recharge stations in case your phone battery dies while at the mall. The app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
