The event was hosted at the RCS Group Head Office in Mowbray.
“One of the key metrics that Startupbootcamp looks at is that success for startups based on how well we connect startups with corporate contracts, proof of concepts, projects, pilots, and commercial agreements,” said Startupbootcamp Cape Town co-founder and CEO Philip Kiracofe.
Startupbootcamp Cape Town’s next stops on the FastTracks tour are Johannesburg (21 February), Gaborone (26 February) and Harare (28 February)
“For us globally, we aim to have out of every programme, a minimum of 1o signed agreements,” added Kiracofe. “Last year at our very first programme, we had 32 commercial agreements for those 10 startups.”
“For the guys who were seating in you chairs a year ago, on average there were three of those per startup in just three months,” he told the participants.
The participants were joined by representatives from the programme’s sponsors — RCS, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Old Mutual, Nedbank, PwC and Woolworths Financial Services — who later in the event conducted rotating mentoring sessions with the startups.
