Seedstars World, one of the leading global competitions aimed at tech startups in emerging markets, in partnership with La Factory, a market for craftsmen and artists, is calling on Moroccan tech startups to apply to pitch on 6 July at an event to be held in Casablanca.
In all, 10 seed-stage startups will be chosen to compete on 6 July. It will be the fourth time Seedstars visits Morocco. The winner of the pitch will get the chance to represent Morocco at next year’s Seedstars Summit in Switzerland.
The winner at the Seedstars pitch stands a chance of winning up to $1-million in equity investment at Swiss summit
The latest call follows a call last week that Seedstars put out for Sub-Saharan Africa to apply for its 2018 edition.
Seedstars said in a press release yesterday, that the companies selected to pitch at the Seedstars Casablanca event need to less than two years old, have raised less than $500 000 in funding and built a minimum viable product, ideally with existing traction.
To qualify, startups also need to have scalable businesses. With a strong network of international partners, such as Merck, SPECo, Enel or Continental (among others) the competition organisers are looking for smart startups that tackle regional issues and develop profitable and sustainable products for the global market.
The applications are open until 15 June and startups are invited to apply here using the code (SSWCasablanca18).
