Communications services and solutions provider Liquid Telecom has partnered with AfriLabs, a pan-African network of 100 tech innovation hubs across 30 countries, to provide connectivity and access to cloud-based tools to the organisation’s centres.
The partnership, which was announced in a statement yesterday (5 July), will also see Liquid Telecom and AfriLabs launch a series of joint programmes — including digital skills training, accelerator competitions, and workshops — designed to accelerate growth within the region’s tech startup communities.

In addition, Liquid Telecom will provide startups with access to the Microsoft Azure platform and software developer platfrom Github.
AfriLabs affiliate hub members will also be able to access Liquid Telecom’s digital skills training platform, which focuses on key Fourth Industrial Revolution skills such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things, machine learning, game development, and cloud computing.
Liquid Telecom Group CTIO Ben Roberts, said the company is “passionate about scaling startups across Africa”, and had over the last year through its Innovation Partnership supported a number of startups.
“This new partnership with AfriLabs will really help push our initiative to the next level – both in terms of raising Liquid Telecom’s profile within Africa’s tech ecosystem and improving our ability to support the region’s startups with the resources they need to successfully bring solutions to market,” added Roberts.
