Pan-African banking conglomerate Ecobank has announced the 11 finalists of the second edition of the Ecobank Fintech Challenge.
In a statement last week, Ecobank Group executive for operations and technology Eddy Ogbogu said the bank was “delighted” by the quality of the challenge finalists and had high hopes they will capitalise on the mentoring and support of the group.

The 11 finalists are: Lypa (Kenya), Wallet.Ng (Nigeria), Nala (Tanzania), Litee (Benin), SESO Global (South Africa), InvestED (Sierra Leone), Secapay (Nigeria), Virtual Identity (developed by e4 from South Africa), MojiPay (Togo), Eversend(France), and Awamo (Germany).
The 11 finalists will exhibit and pitch at an Innovation Fair and award’s ceremony set to be held on 30 August in Lomé, Togo
The top three finalists will win cash prizes worth $10 000, $7000 and $5000 respectively. In addition, the winners will also join Ecobank’s Fintech Fellowship for six months during which they will each get an opportunity to further partner with the Ecobank Group.
The 11 startups are set to exhibit and pitch their products to a jury at an Innovation Fair and award’s ceremony set to be held on 30 August at Ecobank’s headquarters in Lomé, Togo.
