Here are the five SA innovators tapped for All Africa Business Leaders Awards

Five SA innovators behind some of the country’s most innovative startups and social enterprises have been named as finalists of the eighth All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA).

The five, along with other Southern Africa finalists, were announced at an event last week in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

The awards, which are this year held in partnership with news channel CNBC Africa, honour remarkable leadership and salute game changers for their continuing commitment to excellence, developing best practices and innovative strategies.

The  All Africa Business Leaders Awards Grand Finale will take place at a gala dinner in Johannesburg on 29 November

The finalists were selected by a team of judges led by CNBC Africa non-executive director Sam Bhembe.

Finalists from all corners of the continent will meet at the grand finale of the awards for the announcement of the winners at an exclusive gala dinner in Johannesburg on 29 November.

The five have been nominated in the Young Business Leader of the Year, Industrialist of the Year and Innovator of the Year categories. They are:

CEO and co-founder of The Awethu Project Yusuf Randera-Rees, who is one of two Southern Africa finalists for the Young Business Leader of the Year award.

Likoebe Innovation Consultants and founder Nneile Nkholise — who’s also the founder of iMed Tech — has been selected along with three other finalists for the Industrialist of the Year award.

Aerobotics CEO and co-founder James Paterson, Vizibiliti Insight Africa CEO Courtney Bentley, and Hippo Roller executive director Grant Gibbs have all been nominated for the Innovator of the Year award.
