Cape Town based proptech startup HouseMe has come out tops at Seedstars Cape Town.

HouseMe was placed first at the event, which was held last Friday (19 October). In second was fintech startup Slide Financial, while procurement platform Kuba took third place.

Founded in 2016 by Ben Shaw and Kyle Bradley, HouseMe connects tenants to residential landlords, providing letting services for a fraction of agency fees.

By placing in the top three, HouseMe, Slide Financial and Kuba have secured spots at the Seedstars South Africa finals which take place on 14 November at Seedspace Cape Town.

Seedstars World’s next stop on the South African leg of its tour is the Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct in Johannesburg, where this year’s Seedstars Johannesburg pitch event will be held next Friday (2 November).

Startups can still apply to enter the Johannesburg satellite event to be held on 2 November and the Cape Town main event, to be held on 14 November. The deadline for applications for each is today (22 October) and next Saturday (3 November), respectively.
