MyFoodness will now represent Botswana at the Seedstars regional and global summits

By winning Seedstars Gaborone, MyFoodness will go onto represent Botswana at the Seedstars Africa summit in Tanzania next month and the global summit in Lausanne, Switzerland in April next year. At the global summit, the startup stands a chance to win up to $1-million in funding.

The winning startups were selected by a panel of four judges: BES Botswana and Consumer Watchdog’s Richard Harriman, Stanbic Bank head of enterprise banking Onkabetse Morapedi, Botswana Innovation Hub director of ICT and marketing Tshepo Tsheko and Seedstars Seedspace Cape Town community manager Lorraine Davis.

Commenting in a statement last week Friday (9 November), MyFoodness founder Boi Rasmussen described winning the pitch event as “amazing”.

“(It’s) an industry nod to the work we are doing on disrupting the ordering world in greenfield markets. We couldn’t be more pleased and humbled,” said Rasmussen.

In all, seven other startups pitched at Seedstars Gaborone, they include: Aerospectral Solutions, Classmate, Gabz RidePriceMate, Zoe Communications, Afrofeel Point-2-Point and ShareMe Studio.

Continuing on its world tour of startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is in Cape Town this Wednesday at Seedspace Cape Town, to select the best startup at the Seedstars South Africa finals.
