Here are the nine startups set to pitch at Seedstars Banjul this Saturday

Seedstars World, one of the leading startup competitions for emerging markets, has announced the nine Gambian startups set to pitch later this week at this year’s Seedstars Banjul pitch event.

The pitching event, which will be held on Saturday (17 November), will see nine seed-stage startups compete to represent Gambia at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland as well as next month’s Africa regional summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In addition, the winning startup will be in the running for $1-million in equity investments.

A jury panel comprised of InSIST Global founder Seedy Bensouda, QCell chief information technology officer Isatou Jah, TAF Africa Global regional manager Ousainou Sosseh and ACE Communications CEO Fatim Badjie Sinyan will select the winners.

The selected startups include a food delivery platform as well as edtech, agritech, and fintech startups. Here is the full list:

Assutech (Leka): Assutech has developed Leka, a food delivery platform targeted at working professionals.

Educare: Educare has developed a mobile app that aims to address school-parent communication.

GamDiary: GamDiary’s online directory service helps users locate small businesses run by Gambian entrepreneurs.

Kameko: Kameko has developed mobility platform Ryde Africa Technologies to help commuters avoid some of the security and accessibility issues associated with taxi transportation in Gambia.

Money Farm Gambia: This agritech’s platform provides Africans in the diaspora and other investors around the world with potential agri-investment opportunities in Africa.

Nesthet Clinical Services: Nesthet Clinical Services is an early-stage mobile clinic that offers home visits, home-based care and emergency response.

Pay365 (Ping Money): Ping Money is a money transfer service that helps economic migrants send money to their families without incurring high fees.

Tecqil: Tecqil provides an all-in-one recruitment platform for employers and job seekers.

Wonma: Wonma is working on an online data analytics platform for the sports industry.
