Ghanaian, Kenyan and Nigerian late-stage healthtech firms — including those solving health challenges facing animals — stand to benefit from up to €50 000 in funding from this year’s Making More Health (MMH) Accelerator programme.
The accelerator is an initiative of the social entrepreneurship network Ashoka and German-based pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. MMH aims to improve health-care access for people, animals and their communities around the world.

To be eligible for the accelerator, startups have to be post-revenue with a product, customers and sales. Those looking to apply should also be ready to co-create with Boehringer Ingelheim.
In addition to the €50 000 in funding that selected startups stand to benefit from, MMH Accelerator participants will also receive in-kind expertise valued at €100 000. The innovators will be provided with tailored training on business growth, scaling strategies, investor engagement and pitching.
The accelerator will also provide programme participants with access to technical expertise — in areas like finance strategy, operations, IT, marketing and social investing — aimed at addressing strategic capacity gaps in their companies.
