Early stage female-led tech startups have just over three weeks left to submit their applications for Lagos-based accelerator GreenHouse LabApplications close on 11 August.

The three-month accelerator programme is aimed at both female-led tech startups as well as tech startups that are developing solutions to address problems faced by women.

Both startups based in Africa as well as those run by Africans but based overseas that have products that are scalable for the African market can apply.

The Lagos-based accelerator is an initiative of GreenHouse Capital and is run in collaboration with Google Launchpad (see more in this story).

Applications for the three-month GreenHouse Lab accelerator close on 4 August

Those looking to apply must have a venture profile published on the VC4A platform, together with their most recent pitch deck.

The programme’s curriculum is delivered by Google mentors and industry experts. Startups selected for the accelerator stand to benefit from access to a global network of mentors and investors, as well as an opportunity to work from the Vibranium Valley tech hub.

Participants will meet with investors prior to a Demo and Investment Day.

Those startups that meet key investment criteria will each stand to benefit from an investment of $100 000 (this excludes other investments that may be made by other investors in the accelerator’s network during the programme).

To be considered for the programme, applicants must:

  • Run an early-stage tech startup with at least one female member on their founding or leadership team
  • Have identified a critical need in Africa and must be building an effective, sustainable and scalable solution
  • Have a team consisting of at least two members including one technical member
  • Have developed, at a minimum, a beta-product and be in the process of refining a go-to-market strategy, building out sales channels and generating revenue
  • Be passionate about their chosen vertical and demonstrate the necessary commitment to building the company of their dreams

The programme kicks off on 18 August and will end on 14 November.

Startups selected for the accelerator are required to commit at least two employees to the programme for up to three days a week in Lagos.

At the conclusion of the programme, each startup will pitch in front of an audience of key entrepreneurs, investors, corporates and institutions from the global tech ecosystem.
