The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has selected five African tech startups to participate in its three-month Global Business Forum (GBF) mentorship programme.
The GBF Mentorship Programme aims to help dynamic startups in both Africa and Dubai explore business opportunities between the regions by partnering them with a mentor from the other region.

The five are FarmGate Africa, Complete Farmer, Quip.link, Engineering Hub and Ride Safe.
The five startups selected for the GBF Mentorship Programme hail from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Rwanda
Tech advisory service AppsAfrica.com said in a statement last week Thursday (27 June) that the initiative was launched earlier in February at Africa Tech Summit Kigali.
The five African startups will be joined in the programme by five other United Arab Emirates (UAE) startups who are members of the Dubai Startup Hub. These companies are: Evolvin Women, Orenda+Bloom, Tuitify, Designhubz and Pixel House.
The five African startups are:
Complete Farmer: Accra-based Complete Farmer is a crowd-farming platform that aims to build sustainable farms.
Engineering Hub: A Kigali-based startup that provides IT services and solutions for mobile banking integration platforms.
FarmGate Africa: Abuja-based FarmGate Africa is a member of the Farmcrowdy Group (part of the startup Farmcrowdy) and focuses on providing major processors and international buyers the opportunity to purchase commodities directly from farming clusters.
Ride Safe: Nairobi-based RideSafe RideSafe is a Blockchain-based mobile application that offers real time emergency response solutions to the public motorbike sector in the event of an accident.
Quip.link: Kigali-based Quip.link is an online marketplace for renting and selling construction equipment.
AppsAfrica said prior to the selection, the 10 startups worked together to develop the structure of the mentorship programme in a “Chamberthon” event at Africa Tech Summit Kigali.
After the three-month programme concludes, the startups will get an opportunity to participate and exhibit at the Fifth Global Business Forum in Africa which will be held in Dubai on 18 and 19 November.
