Seedstars — a leading competition for emerging market startups — has announced that Joburg host this year’s edition of the Seedstars Summit Africa.
Seedstars, in a statement yesterday (1 August) said the Africa regional summit will be held in December between 3 and 5 December.

It will be held in partnership with business development firm HYBR Group and with the support of the Swiss Embassy in South Africa, the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) and DOEN.
The summit will kick off with a bootcamp where startups will receive a mix of theoretical and practical content — with input provided by the Seedstars investment team — on growth models and acquisition channels.

The second day of the summit will feature one-minute pitches from the Seedstars World startups. This will be followed by one-on-one meetings between key investors, mentors and entrepreneurs during an Investor Forum.
The main conference day will take place on 5 December. This will feature will feature dedicated networking sessions and potential industry themed pitch sessions as well as workshops in the morning.
During the afternoon, the the main stage will feature startup pitches, keynotes from industry leaders and Seedstars alumni, as well as prize announcements.
The summit will conclude with a closing cocktail where all attendees will be able to connect and celebrate entrepreneurship in the region.
Leading up to the summit, Seedstars World Tour — the organisation’s early-stage startup competition — will head to Accra, Ghana next Thursday (8 August) and Zanzibar on 15 August.
Winners of the events will in December represent their country at the regional finale that will take place during the Africa summit.
