Seda selects 16 SA startups to attend Gitex 2019 in Dubai

Sixteen of some of SA’s most promising tech startups have joined startups from around the world to showcase their products and services this week at one the world’s leading tech events,  Gitex 2019 in Dubai.

The 16 SA tech startups will join about 750 start-ups from 75 countries at the 39th edition of Gitex Technology Week, which kicked off on Sunday and ends tomorrow (9 October).

The SA startups were selected largely from the Small Enterprise Development Agency’s (Seda) incubation programme will exhibit their innovative tech products and services to over 100 000 visitors from 140 countries.

The Seda supported incubators from which these local startups are selected are Softstart BTI in Gauteng; SmartXchange in KwaZulu-Natal and TuksNovation in Gauteng.

The startups will get a chance to be part of the business matchmaking process on a global platform, source new suppliers and information to enhance their products and services and to formulate business relationships that can potentially accelerate the growth of their startups.

The startups heading to Gitex which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre are:

Wise Parking Systems: Offers on street and off street parking guidance, tariff payment and parking reservations
Ruzambilu Holdings: Has developed sign Language software
Innovate Logistics: A logistics mobile app
Madlokovu Business: Offers fibre solutions, wireless installations and software development
Aviro Med Design: Mobile based Health Tool
VIC IT Consulting: Data encryption service, cyber security assessment, SEM administration

Catin Systems: Business process outsourcing and IT consulting
Mhlaba Group: Maritime port app
Excel At Uni: Student support and bursary management
Tag Your Ride: Mobile app
Belsias Communications: Kuma Recording & tracking system Animations
Go Metro: Developing flexible mobility
SoftCoza Developers: Smart airport mobile app
KT Opportunities: Software development, design and prototyping
