Legal Hub Uganda has been named the winner of The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) 2019 Innovating Justice Challenge Kampala Regional Finals.
The announcement was made at HiiL’s Kampala regional finals which were held last Thursday (31 October).

Legal Hub Uganda consists of a pool of lawyers involved in legal aid service delivery as well as advocacy and capacity building on justice, human rights, rule of law and innovation.
The firm, which was founded in 2017 by Emmanuel Elau (pictured above, right with legal assistant Herbert Odeke) and Jonathan Ochom, pitched Legal Podcasts, a platform through which it shares legal information on land as well as other legal issues.
Legal Hub Uganda won a place in HiiL’s Justice Accelerator programme
Legal Hub Uganda was selected for having the justice solution with the most inspiring pitch and most promising case for impact and sustainability.
LegIT and Bates Court Model were placed second and third, respectively.
Through the challenge, HiiL aims to scout the next generation of promising justice innovators who are working to prevent or resolve our most pressing justice needs.
Legal Hub Uganda has now been selected for a place in HiiL’s Justice Accelerator programme where the platform stands to receive up to €20 000 in grant funding, potential third party investment, tailored training and business development support, as well as access to HiiL’s international network of experts.
The Kampala regional finals are one of four events that will be held across the continent. The Southern Africa regional finals will be held tomorrow at Impact Hub Johannesburg.
