Jack Ma, the co-founder and former executive chairman of the Alibaba Group, will tomorrow meet with Togo’s president Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé.
Ma — who is now engaged in philanthropy through the Jack Ma Foundation, Paradise Foundation and as a UN Sustainable Development Goals advocate — will, together with Gnassingbé, discuss ideas on how emerging technologies can help Africa prosper.
Jack Ma’s meeting with President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé will be broadcast live on Facebook
The discussion, which will be held at the new Lomé palace, was organised by the Presidency of the Togolese Republic and will be moderated by Togo’s Minister of Posts and Digital Economy and Technological Innovations Cina Lawson.
The 20-minute discussion will be followed by an hour-long debate with 20 African entrepreneurs that have proven their worth in key sectors such as business, environment, tech and tackling social challenges.
Those looking to watch the event can do so on a live stream that will be broadcast on this Facebook page starting at 3pm (Lomé time).
