SA’s Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) has called on the public to help devise a new incubation and business development services policy for the country.
In a written communication on 28 October (pictured below) the department said it is in the process of developing an incubation and business development services (IBDS) policy.

The aim, it said, is to improve and strengthen the delivery and impact of business development and incubation services on small business development in South Africa.
The deadline for written submission for the new incubation and business development services policy is 28 November
The deadline for written comments is 4pm on 28 November. These, the department said, can be made via research@dsbd.gov.za
The department is also holding several workshops across the country as part of the public consultative stage in developing the new policy.
Workshops were held last week Tuesday (29 October) in Bloemfontein and yesterday in Cape Town.
Further workshops will be held in East London tomorrow, Nelspruit on 12 November, Durban on 14 November, Kimberley on 26 November and Centurion on 28 November.
Khumbudzo Ntshavheni was appointed as Minister of Small Business Development, in May (pictured above).
In July, Ntshavheni announced a string of new initiatives, in what could be a major step to improving the government’s up till now lack lustre small business support (see this story).
