This week Future Females will be launching its first workshop in Philippi Village, Cape Town, in partnership with the UK-SA Tech Hub on Wednesday (12 February).

For those in Johannesburg, Techstars will run a Startup Weekend in Mogale City, from 14 to 16 February.

Further afield, on Thursday (13 February) in Lagos the second Innovation Showcase Week (ISW) will unveil the best of West-African innovation, while in Morocco, the three-day Startup Africa Summit kicks off on the same day (13 February).

Future Females workshop

Future Females is launching its first workshop in Philippi Village, in partnership with the UK-SA Tech Hub, part of the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Solution Space at the UCT Graduate School of Business.

The workshop is aimed at equipping female entrepreneurs with practical design thinking strategies they can apply to the challenges they solve with their businesses, and experience in their lives.

Innovation Showcase Week 2020

In its second edition, Innovation Showcase Week (ISW) 2020 will unveil the best of West-African innovation, a range of daring solutions to some of the most pressing industrial and consumer problems in multiple sectors.

Solutions on display will include balloon-powered satellites, AI-driven fraud detection, blockchain-powered anti-counterfeiting, computer-vision powered glasses for the visually impaired and a lot more.

All these and more have been built by startups in the second cohort of West-Africa’s first advanced-tech focused accelerator, the Facebook Accelerator, as well as startups from CcHUB’s startup programmes.
