Top startup web events in South Africa, Africa you should know about this week [06/04/2020] [Updated]

Tomorrow the Grindstone Accelerator will be hosting four live video streaming micro-sessions of their popular full day Find-Make-Grow-Realise (FMGR) programme.

This, while serial entrepreneur and author Nic Haralambous (pictured above), and LifeCheq CEO, Abu Addae will host a web Q&A session on Wednesday (8 April).

Ventureburn has updated its existing weekly series that highlights all the top startup events in Africa, by shifting to focus only on web events broadcast from Africa. This includes webinars as well.

Free Knife Capital webinars

In response to Covid-19 and to support SME’s, the Grindstone Accelerator (of which the SA venture capital firm Knife Capital is a part of) will next Tuesday (7 April) be hosting four live video streaming micro-sessions of their popular full day Find-Make-Grow-Realise (FMGR) programme. The event will be live streamed exclusively to any company founders and their employees who want to understand the FMGR process. Register here.

Lockdown discussions

Join the discussion by business advisors, consultants, mentors, coaches and others who are supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs to learn how they help their small business clients to address their lockdown challenges and connect with other practitioners who are also making sense of working in isolation.

The online meeting takes place each Tuesday and will be facilitated by business mentor Christoff Oosthuysen.

Techne Bytes Live

Alexandria Angels which hosts Egypt’s Techne Summit, is running a series of free online interviews with worldwide experts every Sunday and Tuesday.

Cash & Capital during Covid-19

Endeavor SA will host a webinar on how to manage cash and capital in South Africa during Covid-19.

The event will feature a panel of senior serial entrepreneurs and expert VC investors, including Allan Gray director Rob Dower, Clickatell founder Pieter de Villiers, SweepSouth co-founder Aisha Pandor and Knife Capital partner Andrea Bohmert.

LaunchLab Marketing Masterclass

Stellenbosch University’s incubator LaunchLab will hold a Masterclass webinar with guest speaker Andrew Watson, co-founder of Watson Ferguson.

Offering an alternative model to the typical ad agency, he co-founded Watson Ferguson Marketing Agency, which focussed on delivering holistic, cost-effective and impactful marketing solutions to all businesses – new and old, big and small.

Investor readiness during lockdown

Startup Grind Cape Town will host an investor readiness talk with Vuyisa Qabaka, an investor and capital raiser who has raised all the different types of funding that startups can ever raise.

Join Startup Grind Cape Town this Friday at Startup Circles Social Friday. During the virtual event attendees will talk about what we think our world will look like and what we can do going forward as startups.

Participants will break into groups where there will be discussions on how to solve some of the current business challenges as well as discuss the opportunities that are now becoming available.

This Startup Circles member-only event has been made accessible to all for free to help with coping with coronavirus lockdown. Virtual seats are limited.
