The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) has announced the names of its country finalists for its 2020 MEST Africa Challenge.
MEST made the announcement yesterday in a blog post. The finalists include 83 tech startups from Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sénégal, South Africa and Tanzania.

While Debo Engineering won the country final for Ethiopia which was held on 3 June, startups finalists from the remaining countries will now pitch for a place at the finals, which will be held at the 2020 MEST Africa Summit.
A total of 83 startups from nine countries were selected for the 2020 MEST Africa Challenge
The summit, which was expected to take place in Accra, Ghana this month and will now take place as a virtual summit, on a date yet to be announced.
Finalists of the pitch competition, which is now in its third year, stand to receive up to $50 000 in equity investment from MEST and space in a MEST incubator.

Ethiopia:
The Ethiopian finals took place on 3 June, with Debo Engineering emerging as the country winner. The remaining startups that also pitched were:
