This week’s events will cover the foundational basics of creating a business with StartupGrind hosting a Business Model Development Workshop on Saturday.
In addition, serial techpreneur, Jean-Pierre will offer insight into his journey in raising venture capital as a black tech startup founder and the challenges he faced in doing so along with advice for other black entrepreneurs.

Running a business
StartupGrind South Africa will be hosting a webinar focusing on the impacts of running a business and having to balance it along with one’s general other responsibilities, family, etc. The webinar will cover the challenges surrounding and how best to make it work for one’s lifestyle.
Insights will be provided by guest speakers including Joseph Ndaba chapter director of Mahikeng Innovation Hub and Tebogo Mosito, a woman in the mining industry. The webinar will function as a fireside chat session with attendees able to submit questions.

Business Model Development Workshop
The ultimate Business Model Development Workshop will take place virtually and will be hosted by Startup Grind South Africa. The workshop will provide a foundation for entrepreneurs on how to base their businesses using the provided Business Model Canvas. Facilitated by Monde Zuma, founder, and CEO of MamelodiBiz and MamelodiTV, the workshop will help entrepreneurs draft a preliminary planning document that describes what one plans to do and how you plan to do it – it covers the who, what, why, and how of the business.
The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management and lean startup template for developing new or documenting existing business models.
It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm’s or product’s value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances. This is a must-attend workshop for entrepreneurs who are just starting their journey and would like guidance and insight into revenue streams, key resources, customer engagement, key partnerships, and more.
