Local fintech wins Technology Company of the Year Award
Johannesburg-based fintech startup, Basalt Technologies has been accoladed at the prestigious Africa Tech Weekly Awards 2020, winning the Technology Company of the Year Award.

Founded in 2017, the fintech startup focuses on developing innovative digital banking and insurance solutions. In a forward-thinking approach, the fintech startup works alongside clients to ‘co-create’ a fintech product that is tailored to the client’s needs.
Aside from being acclaimed as the Technology Company of the Year 2020, Basalt Technologies has been recognised for its cutting-edge work for various bands and service providers.
Zwiers sheds light on the importance of technology in addressing societal challenges and within the context of the pandemic.
