Rorisang Posholi, co-founder of Brandbook provides insight into the inspiration behind the creation of the new app.

“With the lockdown keeping shoppers indoors and driving them to resort to online shopping and food delivery service now more than ever before, we saw this as the appropriate time to launch our offering to the market at a time when shopping dynamics have changed.”

Ibottit

With Covid-19 causing a hefty pinch in the pocket of many South Africans, Ibottit is an app that aims to alleviate the economic impacts of the pandemic. It allows users to exchange their points for digital vouchers to purchase a range of items from several retailers.

How does it work?

The app is available for download for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Users must upload an image of their receipt within 48 hours of purchase and will receive points per each receipt uploaded. Over time, once vouchers have accumulated, users can purchase various items at a number of partner retailers such as Takealot, UberEats, and more. In addition, users can earn vouchers by completing monthly surveys.

The app offers several benefits:

  • Keeping track of spending habits
  • Earning vouchers that are redeemable at partner retailers
  • Easy access to the latest receipts for the purpose of tax, refund claims at work, and more.
