Laurian Venter, Director at OneDayOnly comments on the sale of the property on the platform.
“With our site requiring an incredible amount of agility and an ingenious buying team, we like to push the envelope where we can. The properties we sold last year during a time we were all forced to optimise our daily activity online proved a surprising success for us and with what we learned then, we hope to be able to offer our customers other ‘first time ever’ deals on our site.”
Partnering with Rawson Developers, the luxury studio apartment was sold at a discounted rate of over R150 000. Located at The Tokyo, the illustrious property was reportedly sold online at 02.21am after going live on the platform at midnight.
Located in central Cape Town, The Tokyo offers 148 studio units that have been inspired by the futuristic simplicity of Japan’s micro-apartment trend. The deal went live on the same day as the development’s online sales.
This is the third property to be sold on the daily deals platform. The previous property was sold in June 2020 and was purchased by 9am.
With the global pandemic shifting eCommerce trends across the globe and in South Africa, there has been a stark rise in online purchases.
The innovative and boundary-pushing eCommerce platform is no stranger to selling a range of items on its platform as it reportedly sold a 1992 Ferrari 348 TS in 2016.
