In an official press statement to Ventureburn, Siyabulela Bomvu, co-founder of Khula Africa Innovation Projects explains that Smartpozi’s overall aim is to increase access to academic support for all students.

“With Smartpozi we are working to see that every child, in every corner of South Africa, is able to access quality academic support. We want to break down barriers, get teachers sharing skills across communities and help every child fulfil their dream.”

Founded by Siyabulela and Lungile Bomvu, Khula Africa Innovation Projects was prompted to create the new and innovative platform from the existing gap in the market for students to access qualified teachers for further tutoring and academic support.

This gap was made prevalent during the global pandemic causing shifts in the education sector and spurring on the adoption of technology in teaching.

Leveraging off the internet and technology, the digital platform enables teachers to promote their services and boost their income by connecting them to students who require further academic assistance. Smartpozi has several options available to learners and includes online, telephonic, or face-to-face lessons.

The flexibility of access to additional academic support caters to students and pandemic social distancing conditions.

With privacy and security in mind, Smartpozi only shares teachers’ contact details with registered students and parents.

Users are able to easily navigate the platform and search for available teachers by subject matter and grade.

Payment for the academic service is conducted directly between students and teachers with a number of payment method options available.

How to enrol

Interested teachers and students can easily register on the online platform.
