Heard about the Peace Koalas? Yes, koalas, as in that adorable animal that’s not quite a bear or a panda. Global fintech Finder has launched its first charitable non-fungible token (NFT) collection of Peace Koalas to raise money for Ukraine.

Finder, an Australian-based fintech that helps people around the world make better financial decisions, has released a collection of 1 000 Peace Koalas to the public. These are described as “unique generative artworks” created by Finder’s designer Lemon Mingyue.

Each Peace Koala is worth 0.03 ETH, approximately $55.

All the minting proceeds and secondary sale royalties from the Peace Koala collection will go directly to the official crypto wallet of Ukraine, published by this country’s ministry of digital transformation.

Frank Restuccia, founder and global chief executive of Finder, said the launch of the project was born from a desire to do more for the people of Ukraine.

“We have a number of crew in Poland who have seen first-hand the impact of this war, which is why we are using our skills and resources to do what we can to support the cause.”

Peace Koalas has many benefits

Finder has already raised over $10 000 for Ukraine charities after a successful campaign earlier this year where the company matched donations made by crew.

“I know many of us feel helpless watching these scenes from the safety of being on the other side of the world, but we all want to be able to do more. This is another way to show your support from afar.”

This is Finder’s first charitable NFT collection, and an opportunity to help others gain a better understanding of the market. Each Peace Koala holder will earn a guaranteed waitlist spot for Finder’s next NFT collection. Additionally, rare NFT holders of this collection will be able to receive discounts on future mint prices.

“If you’re an NFT investor this is a great way to give back to a community in need. If you’re new to NFTs this is your chance to dip your toe in at an accessible price point and raise money for a good cause at the same time.”

The project has been built on ImmutableX, a layer-2 ETH scaling solution – minimising gas fees and maximising the amount able to be donated. This also ensures that all NFTs minted are 100% carbon-neutral.
