Leaders from across South Africa’s payments and digital commerce ecosystem will on Friday, 14 October gather for the inaugural Scale Summit. Hosted by payments fintech start-up Stitch, the focus will be on optimising money movement for long-term growth.

Hosted in partnership with bill and payments aggregator Pay@, identity verification KYC, and user onboarding firm Smile Identity, the summit will feature expert panelists from across the country’s fintech, payments and retail space, an early stage B2B fintech showcase and a workshop on open banking innovation hosted by Capitec.

“We’re excited to host our first Scale Summit and bring together some of the leaders shaping digital commerce and the future of payments in South Africa. We’ll be joined by speakers with an incredible amount of insight into what it takes to improve payments to unlock greater revenue and margins for businesses at scale,” said Thea Sokolowski, head of marketing and communications at Stitch.

As online businesses reach scale stage, the ability to efficiently and effectively accept payments, send payouts and move money cross-border plays an increasingly vital role in increasing reach and revenue, reducing costs, retaining customers and growing faster – while overcoming competition.

Topics discussed will include:

  • how optimising payments and payouts can enable online businesses to scale faster.
  • increasing conversion + growing repeat customers in online retail.
  • mitigating fraud in digital payments; and
  • how partnerships can contribute to an optimal payment experience.

The event will also include workshops focused on innovation in open banking, optimising payments, and a deep dive into use cases for the fastest-growing digital payments innovations – from one-click checkout to Instant EFT payments, to seamless payouts.

Following panel discussions, several early-stage B2B fintech start-ups will present their solutions in an early-stage startup showcase. Participants include Sava, 6DOT50, Zoie Health, Paymenow and more.

The event is free for attendees, but space is limited.
