Ghanaian edtech founder shines on New York billboard
The visionary founder of Ghanaian edtech social enterprise Stars From All Nations, Tom-Chris Emewulu, has been highlighted on New York Times Square among hand-picked entrepreneurs from around the world.
The highlight is an honour for selected entrepreneurs participating in the prestigious Nasdaq Entrepreneurship Centre’s Milestone Makers programme for meeting their predetermined milestones.
Milestone Makers is billed as the centre’s flagship programme, providing individualised mentorship and executive coaching, as well as access to the centre’s vast network of industry experts to help each founder with his or her milestone. Entrepreneurs were picked after a competitive application process, and all hope to improve the lives of and support communities across the globe.
Emewulu’s coach, PK Agarwal, a celebrated technology and academic leader in Silicon Valley and dean of UC Santa Cruz says, “I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work with Tom–Chris. He is special and I am looking forward to celebrating his achievements.”
According to Agarwal, Emewulu’s work has created innovative change across organisations and communities and impacted millions worldwide.
He has worked with several global entrepreneurs and executives to fuel innovation at the intersection of technology and social impact, including educating +20K students about the path to gainful employment and pioneering start-up events like Global Student Entrepreneurship Week, a growth-focused event with budding African entrepreneurs learning from investors and entrepreneurs from Africa, Silicon Valley, and beyond.
When he is not leading his team to build the future of education in Africa and helping rising professionals create their dream companies through Stars From All Nations, he is telling African innovation stories or advocating for people-centred policies.
Emewulu cares deeply about how data can empower young Africans, a desire that led him to establish Ghanaʼs premier digital career accelerator, ReadyforWork.
Stars From All Nations is Ghana’s for-youth, by-youth education social enterprise on a bold mission to unlock the potential of Africa’s young geniuses by helping them turn their passions into businesses and fulfilling careers. =
The company’s signature initiative, ReadyforWork, is a digital career accelerator that uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to equip entry-level job seekers with skills and help recruiters make data-driven hiring decisions.
The start-up is currently recruiting for cohort six of the ReadyforWork accelerator in financial analysis, digital marketing, user experience, user interface design, data science and software engineering career paths. For more information, visit https://readyforwork.africa/.
