Noupoort Wind Farm recently hosted an exhibition and marketing event in collaboration with Business E-Zone Noupoort, aimed at promoting the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMMEs) in the Northern Cape.
The initiative provided 32 local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their products and services and receive valuable information on compliance and regulations from Business Ezone.

“The exhibition and marketing event was an opportunity for us to showcase our products and services and get valuable information on compliance and regulations,” said Thando Nkosi, owner of a local catering business. “It also gave us the chance to network with other entrepreneurs and learn from successful business owners like Olwethu Tshoma and Nomonde Teki.”
The event, held at the communal out-door gymnasium park in the town centre, was a part of a broader and ongoing development initiative aimed at stimulating economic growth and development in Noupoort.
Also, it was a platform for small businesses to network, learn, and grow.
“The event was a great platform for us to promote our business and connect with potential customers,” said Sipho Mthethwa, owner of a local cleaning service. “We were also able to connect with other small business owners and learn from their experiences.”
In addition to the exhibition, attendees were treated to motivational talks from two successful entrepreneurs, Tshoma and Teki, who shared their experiences and insights on entrepreneurship.
“It was an incredible experience,” said Teki, director of Unyanisile, a company that sells traditional wear, beads, tekkies, and tablecloths. “These kinds of initiatives hold the potential to enhance the standard of living in our town.”
Ten lucky entrepreneurs were also awarded business services vouchers to assist them in the further growth and development of their businesses.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to receive a business services voucher,” said Bongani Dlamini, owner of a local hardware store. “It will help me to invest in my business and take it to the next level.”
The event not only provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses but also stimulated economic growth and development in the area. The promotion of small businesses is crucial for boosting the local economy and creating job opportunities for residents.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, Noupoort Wind Farm remains committed to supporting small businesses in the community and contributing to the economic growth and development of Noupoort,” said Sandisiwe Mntonintshi, Noupoort Wind Farm’s economic development manager.
The event in Noupoort was not only a successful initiative in promoting local SMMEs but also served as a means of stimulating economic growth and development in the area. Such events are vital for the growth and sustainability of small businesses, which play a crucial role in the development of the local economy.
