Venture for Africa (VFA), a talent community and a leading source for top tech start-up hires on the continent, has announced that applications are now open for its second bootcamp offering.

The Go-To-Market programme is the latest addition to the growing VFA bootcamp series, following the success of the inaugural Fintech Product Management programme, which is currently in its second cohort.

In the fast-paced world of start-ups, having a skilled and agile revenue and business-facing team is essential for success. Whether launching new products and services or expanding into new markets, having the right team in place is crucial to delivering the best results as a business scales.

The ten-week Go-To-Market bootcamp, designed by VFA, aims to transform participants into growth assets by providing them with a deeper understanding of core functions and skills needed across the revenue side of the business.

The programme covers a wide range of topics, including market and customer research, competitive analysis, brand messaging and positioning, product/service pricing and adaptation, launch marketing strategies, partnership building, sales pipeline development, and much more. Participants will have the opportunity to incorporate learnings from multiple disciplines into their own areas of expertise.

Throughout the programme, participants will attend online masterclasses led by seasoned industry experts who specialise in each topic. They will also be assigned readings, complete assignments, and engage in real-world fieldwork. The bootcamp will utilise engaging content, practical use cases, and stimulating deliverables to hone the skills necessary for successful go-to-market strategies.

The Go-To-Market bootcamp is open to individuals already working in their chosen field, as well as those hoping to enter the space.

The ideal participants include those with strong strategic and operational skills looking to gain more experience in growth and revenue teams, as well as mid-level professionals with deeper experience in marketing, sales, product, finance, and/or legal roles at African tech start-ups, who are seeking to advance into more senior positions.

“The skills covered in the Go-To-Market Bootcamp are essential for core team members within any business looking to launch or scale in African markets,” said Thea Sokolowski, co-Founder of VFA.

“Since launching our Product Bootcamp last year, we’ve seen high demand for a similar offering in this space, and we’re excited to bring it to life, led by experienced talent from some of the best-known tech businesses globally.”

Upon completion of the bootcamp, VFA will leverage its extensive network to place participants who demonstrate exceptional skills and potential in mid-level and senior roles in growth and expansion at leading start-ups that are actively hiring.

Venture for Africa is a community that enables top global talent to transition into roles within the African tech start-up ecosystem. Through their flagship three-month fellowship, VFA provides highly skilled individuals with a landing pad into the continent’s tech startup space. They accomplish this by exposing fellows to local market nuances, offering expert-led training specific to key roles, and connecting them with leading start-ups seeking to hire talent.

VFA Bootcamps are carefully curated and immersive short programmes that feature contextualised content, case studies, and engaging online workshops facilitated by experts from Africa’s fastest-growing companies.

Some of the leading tech start-ups represented by VFA facilitators include Flutterwave, Paystack, Stitch, ABSA Kenya, Chipper Cash, Remitly, Sendy, Money254, and Diool. Participants in VFA Bootcamps can expect to tackle real-world problem sets and deliverables faced by their start-up partners, gaining experience in innovating for the African market while incorporating globally-recognised best practices.

Applications for the Go-To-Market bootcamp are now open, and interested individuals can visit the Venture for Africa website to apply and find more information about the programme.
