AfricArena ignites Nairobi with innovation-packed week
AfricArena, the leading accelerator for Africa’s tech ecosystem, is set to host a summit in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday, 6th September this year. Adding to this exciting development, the very next day, AfricArena will also participate in the first-ever Africa Climate Tech Festival in collaboration with the Catalyst Fund.
This unique partnership aims to create a platform where investors, start-ups, and venture capitalists can come together to explore opportunities and drive growth. The festival will include several side events, promoting further engagement and discussions amongst attendees.
Are you ready to shine at the Nairobi Summit?
The AfricArena Nairobi Summit sees collaboration with high-profile organisations including GIZ, FMO, The Catalyst Fund, Savant, and Saint-Gobain. It intends to further spotlight green economy and climate technologies.
AfricArena is now actively seeking start-ups across various sectors such as deeptech, agritech, women in green economy, sustainable building materials, clean energy eech, and climatetech. Specifically targeting start-ups at the Seed to Series B fundraising stage, virtual pre-qualifications are being hosted over the next six weeks to identify the most promising ventures across the continent.
Interested start-ups can fast-track their applications using this special link. Once applications have been received, AfricArena plans to contact applicants within three weeks for further discussions.
A fun-filled week
In the lead-up to the AfricArena summit and Africa Climate Tech Festival, a week filled with engaging activities has been planned to invigorate the tech ecosystem.
Kicking off the week on 3 and 4 September is the Founders’ Bootcamp. This intensive programme promises to supercharge founders’ knowledge in essential areas often neglected by traditional incubation programs. It is an initiative designed to prepare start-ups for the upcoming summit, by equipping them with the necessary tools and insights.
On 5 September, AfricArena SafariX gets underway. Dubbed as the VC UnConference, this gathering is set to draw in the most active investors who are focusing on Africa’s burgeoning tech landscape. This presents an exceptional opportunity to foster co-investment in Africa, and more specifically, in Kenya’s thriving tech environment.
Adding to the immersive experiences, the AfricArena Nairobi Learning Expedition, also taking place on 5 September, offers attendees an unprecedented exploration of the country’s vibrant tech scene. This guided tour will feature visits to various entrepreneurs, investors, and key players in the ecosystem. It aims to foster strategic connections, allowing Kenyan and pan-African start-ups to pair with investors operating in their respective sectors.
This week of activities, culminating in the AfricArena summit and Africa Climate Tech Festival, reinforces the continuous commitment to empower the African tech community and stimulate its growth.
AfricArena says it is eagerly anticipating welcoming attendees to Kenya – a country with a rich multicultural heritage and a gateway to East Africa. Nairobi’s unique position as the world’s only city with a safari park in close proximity and its location near breath-taking landscapes like the African savannah, the Great Rift Valley, and the famed Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem enhances its allure.
