The Startup Guide Summit aims to foster innovation and collaboration by providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and the formation of meaningful partnerships. Through breakout sessions and discussions, attendees will explore crucial topics such as building robust innovation ecosystems, aligning city challenges with local solutions, and bridging the funding gap between the public and private sectors.

Sissel Hansen, CEO of Startup Guide, expressed the essence of the summit’s mission, stating, “After ten years of mapping innovation ecosystems across the world, we now know that entrepreneurship and innovation are absolutely everywhere! We have learned that local innovation plays a crucial role in solving some of the most complex issues of our time.”

She continued, “The challenge now becomes: How do we get them implemented quickly and sustainably?”

One of the highlights of the summit is the Urban Impact pitching competition, organised in collaboration with Impact Shakers. This competition aims to spotlight the best global Urban Impact start-ups, showcasing diverse solutions to urban challenges.

Sixteen start-ups will be selected to pitch at the summit, competing for a $10 000 investment from the Impact Shakers Microfund. The pitch competition not only provides start-ups with exposure but also offers invaluable networking opportunities and PR support.

The Startup Guide Summit will be held at Casa do Impacto, a renowned hub known for bringing together major social and innovation players/initiatives in Portugal. Through this event, organisers hope to create lasting connections and collaborations that can drive tangible and positive change in the world.
