Perforce Software has launched Perfecto AI, a new agentic AI testing solution designed to eliminate the time, complexity and fragility of traditional test automation. Released on 15 July 2025, this patent-pending tool allows teams to write plain language prompts to generate and execute tests across web, Android and iOS environments. No scripts, frameworks or ongoing maintenance are required.
For Africa’s growing tech sector, where development speed and platform stability are critical, Perfecto AI offers a practical alternative to brittle test logic and costly rework. Built on Perforce Intelligence, the platform adapts in real time to user interface changes and dynamic workflows. The result is a scalable, script-free approach to quality assurance that matches how startups and enterprises in South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya are building across multiple devices and markets.

“Unlike AI copilots that still produce fragile code, Perfecto AI executes complete tests with zero upkeep,” says Stephen Feloney, VP of Product Management at Perforce. “This helps teams reduce rework, increase velocity and remove the need for test maintenance.”
The tool supports test-driven development (TDD), allowing teams to write tests before coding even begins. That is a major advantage in fast-paced environments where speed-to-market often determines funding and growth. According to a 2024 CSIR report, over 60% of African DevOps teams cite testing inefficiencies as a top barrier to product delivery.
Early adopters have already reported strong results. Matt Hatherly, Engineering Lead at ASDA, confirms improved test coverage across mobile and web, along with a measurable reduction in automation development time. Kumar Vellore, Managing Director at PreludeSys, noted a 95% time saving during manual validation, equivalent to more than 100 hours per month during proof-of-concept testing.
Perfecto AI integrates directly into modern CI/CD pipelines, providing a smooth transition for teams working with legacy testing systems. It supports dynamic content validation, including charts and image-based components. The system also enables non-developers to build and run meaningful tests. For African startups with lean QA teams, this flexibility can drive immediate value.
The platform also supports broader goals for digital inclusion. By removing the need for advanced scripting knowledge, it allows more team members to contribute meaningfully to quality assurance. This aligns with workforce development initiatives across the continent.
Servus Credit Union, which tested the platform within its South African operation, has already reported productivity improvements. Byron Chan, Digital Delivery QA Lead, said Perfecto AI’s ability to define test cases before development begins had a direct impact on project timelines and team alignment.
Perforce, whose software is used by more than 75% of Fortune 100 companies, now brings Perfecto AI to the African innovation space at a time when efficiency, quality and speed are critical to competitive growth. With VC-backed companies across fintech, health tech and logistics expanding quickly, agentic AI testing may offer the edge needed to scale reliably.
