Eleven startups have been selected to pitch at the Seedstars World event in Luanda, Angola. Taking place on 24 October, the event focuses on highlighting entrepreneurs from emerging countries.
Finalists will be competing for a chance to pitch at the final in Geneva, Switzerland next year for an equity investment of US$500 000.

The local ambassador for the Seedstars World leg in Angola will be Kianda Hub, who will be supporting the event and inviting interested startups to pitch.
Angolan mobile phone company Unitel will be acting as the main sponsor for this leg of the Seedstars World event. Their goal is to drive and foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Angola.

The 11 companies are:
- Bitfyr – a product centered around events and the way users interact with them.
- TEC RETINA – a business to business (B2B) social network.
- TECMICRO – this company is focussed on home automation it order to improve the living conditions of its users.
- Makelabor – a platform allowing collaboration to develop and invest in projects between entrepreneurs and enterprises.
- Interactive Load – a games development company focusing on African culture-theme titles as well as allowing advertising to help small companies and individuals to see.
- Manifesto – a news platform for the Angolan population.
- Kwanza Online – an online shopping platform.
- Jobartis – a combination of market-specific job boards and the traditional system.
- LNL (Luanda Night Life) – restaurant review platform for Luanda’s restaurants, bars, and hotels.
- SOBA – a fashion system financing sustainable social projects and generating profit.
- ProxyPay – a payment integration platform for SMBs.
Seedstars World expanded its competition to include 52 countries compared to 2014’s 36. The competition has already taken place in Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal among others.
