New career acceleration programme hits Cape Town

TenaCiti

The Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi) in partnership with the Kingdom of Netherlands and #CocreateSA has launched the TenaCiti Career Acceleration Programme.

Ten companies will be selected to participate in the programme. As this is a pilot initiative, companies will be exempt from a subscription fee for the duration of the programme.

Participating companies will receive specialised HR support while  junior staff will have the opportunity to participate in various skills workshops as well as online learning initiatives. Junior staff will also receive one-on-one coaching, peer-to-peer learning and various other social engagement skills.

The TenaCiti Career Acceleration Programme aims to enhance the skills and development of emerging companies’ new recruits

The programme will begin in October and run until April 2017, requiring 50 hours for entrepreneurs and business owners, and 100 hours for junior staff over the given period.

For your company to be eligible, it must have tech or tech-enabled businesses operating within Cape Town with a turnover of below R15-million annually. Employers must be dedicated to putting in the time and effort required to complete the course.

Employers should commit to releasing their junior recruits from any work responsibilities to allow them to complete the necessary courses. Selected participants should also be committed to completing any and all relevant evaluations.

The closing date for applications is 11 October 2016.
