Kolisi will be joining other speakers that include African industry leaders, sporting legends, and inspirational personalities.
The festival is considered to be the world’s largest event that focuses on the African digital infrastructure. The festival has always been able to attract inspiring keynote speakers, analysts, critical thinkers, and futurists.
Technology with a difference
Through these speakers, the festival has highlighted that technology can have a meaningful and positive impact on society. In addition, technology can provide effective solutions to societal challenges.
Heins Wagner, the founder of the Hein Wagner Academy, explains that it is critical to shift a perspective to addressing the gaps that exist in society and creating a shifting perspective to provide innovative and impactful solutions.
Wagner himself was born blind but this did not stop him from becoming a popular motivational speaker and completing the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, the Cape Epic, marathons, and triathlons.
For this year’s event, Kolisi and his wife Rachel will join more than 200 speakers. In 2018, he was the first black South African to become the Captain of the Springboks and he led the Springboks to victory, winning the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final.
Kolisi was named one of the most influential Africans by the New African magazine in December 2019.
Kolisi and his wife co-founded the Kolisi Foundation in March 2020 to empower impoverished communities in South Africa. The foundation aims to reduce the amount of extreme poverty and promote equality in South Africa. During the event, the couple will discuss ways that everyone can make a difference.
“I never dreamed of a day like this at all. When I was a kid all I was thinking about was getting my next meal,” shared on the Kolisi Foundation website.
