Here are the 10 Angolan startups pitching this afternoon at Seedstars Luanda

Seedstars World, one of the largest emerging market startup competitions, has selected 10 Angolan startups to pitch at this afternoon’s Seedstars Luanda pitch event.

The event kicks off at 4pm Luanda time at the Fortaleza de São Miguel in the Angolan capital.

The Seedstars Luanda winner will represent Angola at the Seedstars Africa summit which will be held in Johannesburg in December (see this story) where they will get a chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland.

The 10 startups pitching at the event operate across edtech, mobility and greentech. They are:

  • Onde: Onde has developed an addressing system that makes use of three words. In addition, the platform supplies users with information on various services offered in the country.
  • Cartão Jovem Angola: Cartão Jovem Angola develops projects which help Angolan youth with social and economic growth. These include partnerships with companies which result in discounts for youth.
  • Angola Desportiva: This startup uses technology to create engagement and commercial value from sports.
  • Conexão Académica: Provides personalised e-learning and training solutions that meet the specific needs of companies
  • DroneSIG: Uses drones to collect and then analyse aerial data that can be used to address problems farmers face monitoring crops and pests
  • VôQueixar: This startup’s platform enables users to review their experiences with Angolan businesses and services, while offering companies an opportunity to engage with customers.
  • E-Bina: Non-docking bike sharing platform
  • Autonação: Autonação is developing mobility solutions that make use of motorcycle taxis.
  • Menos Lixo: Marketplace that connects all environment care ecosystem agents to waste producers
  • Roque Online: This startup bills itself as the Amazon for informal markets, its platform provides users with a suite of business and e-commerce services
