Sierra Leonean data analytics startup Track Your Build has been named the winner of last week’s Seedstars Freetown pitching event.

Track Your Build was founded in 2014 by Samuel and Edmond Nonie and uses drones, satellites, cloud computing and analytics to provide aerial and resource data for construction and engineering projects.

Earlier this year, Track Your Build was one of 10 startups selected for Airbus Bizlab’s #Africa4Future Accelerator programme (see this story).

The startup, which has offices in Lagos and Freetown, was last year among four companies selected for Co-Creation Hub’s (CcHub) 2018 incubation programme (see this story).

Track Your Build will now represent Sierra Leone at the Seedstars regional summit

Track Your Build was not initially included on the list of nine startups that were selected to pitch at the event (as published on the Seedstars Freetown website).

However, Seedstars regional manager Adaeze Zita Edokwe clarified that the organisation had accidentally left out Track Your Build’s name from the initial list of startups selected to pitch at the event.

The nine that were Uniworks, SaloneBuy, TapTap, Agro Fish Farm, Light Salone Innovation, Jalimi Farms, Project 2000, Shop and Fepo Website Hosting (see this story).

Ride-hailing startup Tap Tap was placed second, while Uniworks won third place for its digital payment solution and student ID.

A jury panel that included Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation data scientist Kumba Liliana Musa, Madam Wokie CEO and creative director Mary Ann Kai Kai, Seedstars World regional manager Claudia Makadristo, De Victors founder and CEO Alfred Mbeteh, and UBA brand manager Esther Michael Emeh selected the top three startups.

Track Your Build will now represent Sierra Leone at the Seedstars Africa summit which will be held in Johannesburg in December (see this story). In addition the startup will also get access to a three month investment readiness programme.

At the Africa summit, Track Your Build will get a chance to win a spot to attend the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland where the winning startup will take home a $500 000 investment prize.

Seedstars World‘s next stop is Angola where the Seedstars Luanda pitch event will take place on Friday (6 September) at Fortaleza de São Miguel in the country’s capital.
