Property investment portal Yetu PIC wins Seedstars Kinshasa
Property investment platform Yetu PIC has been crowned the winner of this year’s Seedstars Kinshasa pitching event.
London-based Yetu enables members of the Congolese diaspora to invest in property in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Agri-marketplace and crowdfunding platform Agribos Market was placed second, while comics publisher Congo BD came in third at the pitching event which was held on Wednesday (18 September) in Kinshasa.
Yetu will now represent the DRC at the Seedstars Africa regional summit
In addition to the three winners, eight other startups were selected to pitch at the event. They include: My Virtual Planning, Confo Medika, Friedcorp 89 cc, OSat, Astech-Congo, Avocats.cd, Kodaka and Kintrack.
A panel comprised of BCDC’s Alice Buyle, Deloitte managing partner Bod David Nzoimbengene, Seedstars World regional manager for Africa Claudia Makadristo, FPM director general Carlos Kalambay Kabangu and FSD Africa country representative Henri Plessers.
Yetu will now represent the DRC at the Seedstars Africa regional summit which will be held in Johannesburg in December (see this story) where the startup will get a chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland.
Continuing on its world tour of fast-growing startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is the Cape Verde where it will host the Seedstars Praia pitching event next Thursday (26 September).
