Malawian healthech startup Ocliya wins Seedstars Lilongwe

Malawian healthtech startup and social enterprise Ocliya has won this year’s Seedstars Lilongwe pitching competition.

Ocliya was one of nine startups that were selected to pitch at the event which was held yesterday at mHub in the Malawian capital.

Eight startups other startups were also chosen to pitch at Seedstars Lilongwe, these were Mbera Enteprise, Cross Africa Tech, 365 Energy, Afrineur, Angle Dimension, Maziko Fintex, Aid Your Community Consultancy and Elior Health Systems.

Ocliya will now represent Malawi at the Seedstars Africa Summit

Ocliya provides a range of physiotherapy services and links patients to different health personnel.

The startup will now represent Malawi at the Seedstars Africa Summit in Johannesburg this December.

At the summit, the startup stands to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland where the winner of the event will take home a $500 000 investment prize.
