Here are the Ivorian startups pitching today at Seedstars Abidjan

Seedstars World, the Swiss emerging market startup competition, has named the nine companies that will pitch today at Seedstars Abidjan in Ivory Coast.

The event starts at 1pm local time at the Azalai Hotel.

Other than representing Ivory Coast at the Seedstars Africa Summit, the winner of the event will get an all-inclusive trip to Johannesburg in December for the Seedstars Africa Summit.

At the regional summit, the Seedstars Abidjan victor stands a chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland where an investment prize of $500 000 is up for grabs.

The nine are:

• Panely Cash: Mobile money transfer service that works via SMS and is linked to a bank card
• Julaya: Mobile wallet that enables merchants to access financial services
• Kamtar: Logistics platform
• Lifiled: Offers access to lighting, high-speed internet and educational content using a LED light bulb and Light Fidelity (Lifi) technology
• Meditect: Uses artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology to ensure the authenticity and traceability of medicines in developing countries
• Legafrik: Legal platform which offers legal, tax and accounting assistance to entrepreneurs
• Easy2Facil: On-demand dry cleaning and shoe-making service
• Ata Solution: Has developed a solution that uses AI to monitor soil and crops
• Seekewa: Digital platform that links small-scale farmers to financing

Orange Fab showcase

The same event will also see four startups from Season 5 of accelerator Orange Fab Côte d’Ivoire showcase their innovations. The four are:

• Innoving: Business management application that is adapted to the business environment in Africa
• Afrik’apps: Has developed the Ahiwaa application which enables real-time express deliveries
• Smartphorce: Provides ICT solutions for companies and institutions
• Novate Media: Offers visual identity creation, graphic design and modelling services
